HEY A KARA AND HELO SCENE. I really miss them BFFing about. I just miss Helo, actually, he's hardly been around lately. And ouch, seeing Kara with a little girl again is painful.

OH MY DAYS, ACTUAL BOOMER/CHIEF INTERACTION. IN THE PRESENT AND EVERYTHING. And she's just saying everything, and it's so bleak and horrible and she sounds so tired, and he's just staring at her, and then he goes "Me too," and OH MY SOUL, how am I expected to cope with this? TEARS. All this resigned acceptance is killing me. Hands on the glass. OOH FLASHBACK! Or Cylon projection, whatever, I just can't believe they showed us a fucking WEDDING PHOTO. And what is all this happening with Kara's Fake Sexy Dad - was he ever even there? Morgan, what is this doing for your KARA AS DANIEL theories?

BOOMER/CHIEF KISSING FOR REALS EXCUSE ME WHILE I CRY. Also, she totes has Hera in that crate, y/y? (Y) And POOR HELO AND ATHENA. Meanwhile, Boomer's fake!Athena voice amuses me no end. But ohhh, God, it's even worse than horrible because it's nopt just poor bitter broken Boomer taking revenge for Athena stealing her life, she's going back to fucking Cavill. CHIEF. OHHH. And he's in the house in his deck clothes and I am HEART. BROKEN.

I don't know why I'm surprised. RULE ONE: NO ONE IS EVER, EVER HAPPY.

Being Human was utterly fantastic; I'm so pleased with how the series turned out. JOHNNY CASH, oh my days (although I can no longer hear that song without whimpering over the GK finale, but whatever).

+ First up, lovestories made a Merlin vid, and I've watched it at least eight times in the past day and a half. Full disclosure: I acted as a weirdly enthusiastic cheerleader, in that she said "Should I vid this song?" and I went "HOMG YES! PUT IN THE BIT WITH THE FOOT IN THE FACE!" Anyway, her summary:
This vid is an exercise in Taking Songs Literally, if anything. "White Houses" is a beautiful song about losing your virginity, but one day it came up on shuffle, and my brain went, 'Gee, this sounds SOMEWHAT FAMILIAR,' and the concept for this fanvid was born. + I REALLY LOVE MARTHA JONES, LIKE, A LOT. This vid by such_heights is kind of Ten/Martha, but mainly it's about how fabulous and strong and hopeful Martha is. It's completely gorgeous.

NGL, I watched the piano scene where Kara and piano man play "All Along the Watchtower" like, 10 times. As for theories, it seems to be heavily implying that Kara's father is Daniel, and that makes her the first hybrid, hence her little ~interaction~ with Hera. And also, I like how they really subtly inserted the fact that the piano man was all in Kara's head at the last minute. The reintroduction of head!cylons!

I kneeeeeew the Boomer/Chief stuff would break you; it broke me a little as well.

Heck yes I read Bear's blog. I read them when I remember to, but I definately had to read the whole thing for this one because the music, all of it, got to me on such a visceral level. Damn, I hope most of it shows up on the season 4 soundtrack.

And I am more than happy for things to continue in a Kara/Anders direction, because they are so much more heartrending than Kara/Lee and I have come to accept that, no matter what I and La Sackhoff and auroralives might hope, that Kara/Leoben is pretty much dead at this point. I was kind of in love with Anders the moment he walked on screen, soooooo yeah. (I tend to go for the teddy bear/puppy types - Sam, Helo, Chief - they're safe dammit!) And Bear, doing his magic thing again, "A Promise to Return" is my favoritefavoritefavorite track on the season 2 soundtrack - more than "Roslin and Adama," more than "Prelude to War," so that might justify part of my crazy. So yeah, I'm getting warm shipper fuzzies from the way this is turning out. I am such a stupid girl about this stuff. Forget deeper philosphical meaning, I want something to squee over, (and break my brain a bit with.)

See, I was kind of vaguely spoiled about what he would turn out to be (in terms of Anders/Kara, THE QUAD OF DOOOM) before I watched any of the stuff with him, and I also had the baggage of knowing he was on One Tree Hill, so I was totally prepared to be all "this guy? Him?" BUT THEN HE WAS SO LOVELY AND I WAS KARA-LEVELS OF CONFLICTED. And then when I was doing "a self-fulfilling prophecy" the Anders parts turned out to be my favourite to write. OH SAMUEL T. ANDERS. Also, I love the idea of Kara playing the song that he wrote when she was a little girl. SHIPPING CYLONS IS WAY FUN.

Oh, I completely understand that. I wasn't shipping them at all during the New Caprica arc (although Leoben always fascinated me, that creepy fucker); I was more intrigued by the later stuff, and "Maelstrom" particularly. Apart from the OMG DESTINY! stuff (you know I'm a sucker for OMG DEWSTINY! stuff), I just really liked the idea of Leoben-as-guide, that he recognised poetential in her that other people didn't. Or something? IDK, BLAME IT ALL ON SARAH. And the paint!sex.

I forget if I told you or Sarah this, but a couple weeks ago, I was working on homework on my laptop, headphones on and all, and my roommates had the TV on, which I cannot see from where my desk is. But I heard Trucco and I was like "NO WAI, ARE YOU WATCHING BSG?" Nope, Sabrina the Teenage Witch. I was dying of lulz, and they couldn't understand, and it was a bit sad.

Leoben's interesting to me, especially when I read the_grynne's character studies; she has the cylons and what they represent down to a t. I think also one of the more potentially interesting aspects of Leoben is him as Kara's healer so to speak, thus creating that sort of sexual tension. Totally contradictory because he screws her up some more emotionally, but he helps her figure out who she is by pulling her apart, and that "heals" or focuses her... I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT. I JUST WATCH FOR THE PRETTY.

And I really love the angel-light going on every time it's a flashback to Kara and her dad playing when she was little (love wee!Kara) and she blows his finger like it's a smoking gun and idk why, but I love the score, whatever exactly it is when he goes to hold her face. Kara getting some wee bit of happiness in her life, yay!

THE PIANO PLAYING ALL ALONG THE WATCHTOWER. THAT SQUENCE. I WANT TO LIVE INSIDE IT. I can't believe I didn't see it coming either... although, I think it was better that I didn't? Because I had the whole, "Oh wait, what? OH OH. OMG!!" moment when he started crashing around on the piano and the way it fit in time with the music and TIGH HEARING IT and SHE IS HALF CYLON Y/Y? OHMYGODSOGOOD.

AND OH, BOOMER. She kind of destroys me with her self-destructive ways. Of course she fucks it all up again. Of course we can't have Helo/Athene and Cheif/Boomer being happy and awesome at the same time. Of course.

Not gunna lie, my favourite thing about this episode was that there was Helo. I miss him and his face and his warmth really kind of a lot. My feelings of Helo are well documented, I think he's my favourite... if I had to pick. BUT WHATEVER, WE SAW HELO BEING ALL AWESOME AND BFFY WITH KARA and then we had OMG SEXY!HELO with may or may nothave ruined my life forever and we had CARING!HELO at the end when Athene came stumbling through the door and he caught her and was all "GET DOC, NOW!!" and she was hitting him and he was just holding her and OH MY GOD, SHOWWWW.

I have no idea about what happened to Roslin there, colour me confused.

OH GOD IT WAS SO AMAZING. I could kind of pick it out through what Kara was playing, in a "hey that sounds like the Dylan Four version of AATW, cool", but MY MIND WAS SO VERY BLOWN by the piano-bashery and general CRESCENDO OF AWESOME. And lookit this (http://community.livejournal.com/excellentnotion/16618.html)! Y Y Y Y. Ohh Kara, I love you so very much.

BOOMER MAKES ME SO SAD. We wait so many years for her to get a second chance, and then OF COURSE by the time she gets the shadow of one she's already too fucked up for it to matter. BUT I GOT MY BOOMER/CHIEF EPISODE, THAT WAS THE SINGLE BIGGEST THING I WANTED TO SEE BEFORE THE SHOW ENDED AND I AM OVERWHELMED WITH ITS ~PAINFUL BEAUTY~. And for it to come in an episode with Kara being magnificent and THE MUSIC HOMG just made everything even more ~special~. And I know I'm being ridiculously soppy over this, but HEY THIS IS OUR SHOW, YOU UNDERSTAND. Seriously, I think this ep has knocked "Unfinished Business" off my top spot.

See, I love Helo for being the nicest nicest guy in the universe (I LOVE HIM THE MOST WHEN HE'S BFFING WITH KARA, NGL, ALTHOUGH THE FIRST TIME HE MET HERA WAS TOO FREAKING ADORABLE FOR WORDS), but he's nowhere near the top of my favourites. I think it's maybe because I loved Boomer/Chief SO HARD from the beginning that my sympathies were always with Boomer and not new!Sharon, and so I was never as invested in Helo/Athena (JUST TO CLARIFY - I DO LOVE THEM A LOT, A VERY LOT, just... not quite as much). Worryingly (?) I think most of my favourites are Cylonic (or probably so) at this point; KARA THRACE IS MY FOREVER GIRL, Chief is my BSG boyfriend, SAMUEL T. ANDERS, Leoben... And we also have Gaius, that lovable indestructible cockroach of win. AND GAETA :'(

CRESENDO OF AWESOME INDEED. I got stuck watching it on a loop for the LONGEST TIME. VERY POSSIBLY KNOCKED THE ORIGINAL REVEAL OF THE DYLAN FOUR OFF MY TOP SPOT FOR "FAVOURITE MOMENT IN THE HISTORY OF THE SHOW" I am SO SERIOUS. Oh, Bear. I FUCKING LOVE YOU A LOT, A LOT.

I fell too hard for him in the miniseries and I was like, "WHAT, NO! WHY IS HE STAYING THERE TO DIE???" and then he was in S1 all ~on the run~ and OH MY GOD, "And I respected it. Your feelings, his but... I would've given anything to be him." OH, HELO. I am powerless in the face of words like that. And I love that he's a GOOD GUY and he's the most ~moral~ of them all and HE IS VERY PRETTY and he just became kind of the fill-in guy for EVERY POSITION ON THE SHIP EVER and he did every one of those jobs SO WELL and he just kind of goes along with it, lives his life and BFFING WITH KARA (they were totally frak buddies back in their academy days, jsyk) and IDK, I JUST REALLY LOVE HIM A LOT. I have many, many favourite (HAI SAMMY, LEE ADAMA, LEOBEN AND KARA, ILY A LOT) but I think he's my VERY VERY favourite when it comes down to it in the end. AND GAIUS. "AND GUNS! MORE GUNS! BIGGER GUNS! BETTER GUNS!" I love him and his douchebaggery. HE BRINGS THE LOLZ LIKE NO OTHER. And James Callis is a GIFT TO THE WORLD. (And while I love Matthew very, very much and I will defend him foreverrrr... he would have been SUCH A GOOD ELEVEN.)

At this point I am just SO SCARED of the finale. Bambi and loads of the other actors just talk about how everyone was walking around crying when they read it. OH DEAR, I AM NAILING ARMOUR AROUND MY HEART AS WE SPEAK.
