Yup, I still hate my computer. I'm just taking the opportunity to post while I can now (i.e. before it crashes) to say I miss LiveJournal! And I miss you guys.

So, new term. The Romantic Period. One seminar and three lectures in, and I'm really enjoying it. I mean, that period was so fucked up, and so were the people. Byron? The fuck? I love it. And what are writers supposed to do when the government's passing sedition laws left, right and centre? Excited, I am.

Ooh, I voted! First time ever! I'm totally keeping my polling card.

Also, everybody ever should watch Long Way Round. Basically Ewan McGregor and his best friend Charley Boorman go from London to New York on motorcycles via Europe, Russia, Kazakhstan and Mongolia and I love them. Really. I cannot stress this enough. Watch it. If only for the scenery.

Okay, I'll quit while I'm ahead and attempt to watch Heroes. Wish me luck!

Feeling slightly ambivalent about heading back to Yorkland on Sunday, really. On one hand, everyone has abandoned The Port so there's no one to go out with, plus it's, y'know, Southport. On the other, I've got so much reading to do this term, plus the Italian exam which I have to pass or I get kicked out. And considering how close I was to exhaustion (melodramatic, moi?) at the end of last term, I just hope I can keep up the energy and try to do my assignments at a time which is not the night before they're due.

There's been some crazy nights with some of my favourite people this holiday, so I think I've danced and sweated whatever the hell my problem's been these past few months out of the system, touch wood. Unfortunately, I have ZERO funds, so the dancing in public shall have to be put on hold. Pity the population of York that they shall be denied this fine spectacle.

Also, because I shall soon be deprived of Jo's laptop, and thus PSP7, protect your retinas as I present...

Yet more dodgy icons! )

A few reasons why I might have ZERO funds...

1x Monty Python And The Holy Grail, DVD

Sunday night, 2136 hours approximately. Maloney's cocktail bar. An anguished wail is heard from the booth in the corner.

"Fuuuuuuck! Northanger Abbey! I forgot to put the tape in!"

Okay, so now I am definitely going to crack on with my reading list. I think I might try and get Ivanhoe out of the way first... Ach, this always happens in the holidays. I haven't done *any* Italian yet or made any notable progress on my reading list. However, I did get an email from Gimpy Brian today, suggesting that, since we'll be talking a lot about slavery and abolition, everyone sees Amazing Grace. Well, you know, I'll do it for my course. But I won't enjoy watching Ioan Gruffud be righteous in a period costume, oh no I won't.

Persuasion on Sunday!
