sophieisgodI am in an actual good mood. This is mostly thanks to Mr Whitman, my (gay-but-let's-gloss-over-that) boyfriend, and purveyor of Kink Extraordinaire. Seriously. It's hawt. It makes me want to go and roll in some grass, regardless of whether or not it's February, which it is. Also, it's all over Dead Poet's Society, which should make Kathryn happy. Read it, Kathryn!
Anyway, my entanglement with Walt meant that I gave good seminar, thus receiving praise from Natalie and hopefully a good mark on my oral assessment. Actually:
Okay, in what contexts should I be using 'oral' and 'aural'? I know 'oral' is to do wuth the mouth, and 'aural' is to do with hearing and sound... So what's my speaking and listening assessment? What are the tests in music exams? Can you use the term 'aural sex' to describe a really good piece of music? Je suis confounded and befuddled.
Now I just have to read the Dickinson, the only cloud on the horizon. I've tried, but I really can't be arsed with all the dashes. Plus, teeny tiny four-line stanzas? Seems a tad flimsy compared to my fella.
And I have Friday off! Which means I can get a head-start on Portrait Of A Lady. And I'm actually more excited than I sound.
And on some sick level, I'm kinda enjoying the fact that all my girlies are illy and I'm not. For once. Especially after I spent the last 6 weeks of Autumn Term drowning in my own phlegm. But I do hope they get better soon. If only because we can have a proper night out. It's not as fun when you're the only drunkard.
Ooh, and tomorrow I'm going to see Izzy's gig. It's weird, I've never really seen anyone I'm friends with perform their own stuff before. Faye wouldn't let any of us within a square mile of Thirteen O'Clock, plus the gigs were all in Manchesterland. As for Tom's stint in Silent Gospel *crosses herself and puts finger to lips, then falls over laughing*... I don't think he's actually forgiven us for the incessant mockery yet. Plus, it's just her. No band. Singing her own songs. I would actually be paralytic with fear.
