The Great Big Harry Potter Squee Bonanza

This is it, my friends. The end is near. In a fortnight, it will all be over.

Basically, my Harry Potter Hysteria is reaching unchartable levels of nostalgia and squee, so I thought I would do the decent thing and encourage my fellow fanatics to engage in a wise and nuanced exchange of ideas (and SQUEE) about this monumentous literary occasion (I told you I was getting excited. This isn't healthy).

Basically... I want theories, I want memories, I want fic and video recs, I want favourite moments, favourite characters, thoughts on the films and any other jazz that might apply.

Please, guys. If I don't have an outlet for my excitement my head will explode and I'll die. Do you want that on your collective conscience, flisties? DO YOU?

That theory's so well thought out, but I don't know if I actually want it to happen! It just seems a bit weird that Dumbledore/Ron and Proper Ron could be in the same place at the same time and interact and touch and the universe not explode (oh, Doctor Who, how you have instructed me in the ways of the paradox)! And it sort of rules out a proper Ron/Hermione happy ending if he gets sent back in time. As would Ron's death. *weeping*

Ron/Hermione forever, obviously, but what do you think about Harry/Ginny?

There was a 'making of' type thing on TV yesterday and it had Jason and Gary talking about their duel, and Jason compared it to a Jedi fight! SO EXCITED NOW.

He is the devil, thank god he's not writing this one! We should send him strongly worded letters :D

to be honest I'm a Harry/Luna shipper ^^; But I can (must) live with Harry/Ginny, but I don't ship them.

why isn't it Tuesday/Wednesday yet??? I want to see OotP!!!!

I'm SO scared, he's going to write the screenplay for the 6th movie again. He's going to twist all R/Hr and H/G stuff to H/Hr, I'm sure *is paranoid*

Doctor Who corrupts everyone. I think it's the influence of John Barrowman...

Aww, I quite like Harry/Ginny, but that's mainly because Ginny's gotten pretty awesome in the last few books, and I think her feisty-ness is good for him (it also reminds me of James/Lily, but that's probably because I've read too much fanfic/ lol). I think the thing with Harry is that he's a pretty bland character. Wait, I don't mean bland... blank? Argh. Anyway, I mean that he's not especially comic or scary or anything, so you can put him with most people and it works. While I don't ship them, I'm a huge fan of the Harry/Luna dynamic. Actually, the Harry/Luna clips that I've seen do look pretty awesome. Evanna Lynch is so otherwordly, I think she'll be great.

I don't get to see it until Thursday, I'm going to explode!

KLOVES IS BACK? NOOOOO! He is to blame for so much of the Ron-hate with his stupid, stupid WRONG H/Hr dynamics (although Emma Watson does breathe rather heavily and lustily in her scenes with Dan...) Grrr. Why does he do this, why? Why does he want to make my lovely Ron a complete imbecile?

I liked H/G at the beginning of the series, but after the fourth book I thought it's over, and I liked Harry/Cho at that time (until she turned into a whiny bitch). I do like Ginny as a character, but I'm not a big fan of Harry (that's weird, he's the hero xD). I like the weirdness of Harry/Luna...they're different. And Evanna Lynch is a perfect choice!! :D

I'm going to see the movie on Tuesday/Wednesday morning and on Thursday...and then sometime next week.

Yeah, I believe he writes the HBP. After I saw The Wonder Boys I thought Kloves is a good screenplay writer, but now I'm convinced the other way. He's so consumed in his Hermione-love, he completely disregards the (obviously) canon ships, just to favour the H/Hr love.

I liked Harry/Cho until she started crying all the time... It's weird, isn't it, that Harry doesn't really seem to be anybody's favourite character? I really couldn't stand him for a lot of OotP, when he was just being angry all the time, but sometimes there's moments when I admire his courage, like when he realises that he has to kill Voldemort and just sort of puts his shoulders back and gets on with it. Maybe it's because you can't really identify with him- nobody reads it and thinks "oh yeah, it's like that time that *I* had to defeat the most evil wizard ever"...

I'm going to try and see it as much as possible, I just hope I don't run out of people to go with!

Ooh, I'd forgotten he wrote Wonder Boys, I do love that film. Robert Downey Jr, mmm. I wish they'd get some other people to do these, though... Someone who doesn't give all Ron's good bits to Hermione and have Hermione standing really close and intense to Harry all the time! Grrrr.

I constantly wanted to smack Harry in OotP. But I loved him in HBP (the first book I really really really liked Harry - see, people change when they're in love :D).

I'm glad that many of my friends want to see OotP, so I won't run out of people to see it with.

Wonder Boys is a great movie (rawrrr Robert Downey jr!), I wanted to read the novel for quite some time...hmmm *runs to amazon*

He is awesome in HBP, he's grown up so much (bless him!) - I just hope Dan doesn't mess it up in the movies!

Downey and Tobey Maguire are so cute together in that film! And the novel is awesome, it's by the same guy who wrote Kavalier & Clay, which is the best thing ever!
