OH SHOW, YOU MAKE ME SO CONFLICTED. Because I love the crack (YOU KNOW I LOVE THE CRACK), and I love so much about what you choose to be, but then there's the thing where I CANNOT STAND THE EPONYMOUS 'HERO'. So there's that. OH WELL.
+ OF COURSE the first thing Robin says to Much is an insult. OF COURSE. Because why would the character development from the S2 finale be carried into S3? SILLY ME. Ugh, I am so done with Robin at this point. STUPID JONAS AND HIS STUPID FACE (DISCLAIMER: This will not be the most unbiased ep review you will read, mmmkay? I JUST, HE ANGERS ME FOR REASONS I DO NOT FULLY UNDERSTAND). TREAT MUCH RIGHT, BITCH. Ohh, Much. SAM TROUGHTON IS MY FAVOURITE. AND HIS EYES. EVEN WITH THE SILLY HAT. YAY SHIRTLESSNESS!
+ Love Much, love Allan (ALLAN!), love Little John, but OH BOY HOWDY do I miss The Gang. Will Scarlett, your plan-shaped crafty was sorely missed; they are shit at plans! DJAQ, WITHOUT YOU THERE WERE NO FIERCE LADIES THIS WEEK. And Marian, Marian! TRULY, THIS WEEK WAS SOMETHING OF A SAUSAGEFEST.
+ David Harewood was pretty righteous as Tuck; I liked him a lot. It was interesting to get an outsider's perspective on WE ARE ROBIN HOOD, and I thought his use-the-gang-as-bait plan was pretty good. Well, y'know, as far as plans on this show go. Also, he and Robin had a vair amusing Mufasa&Simba moment, which was vair amusing.
+ OH GIZZY ♥ THE HAIR OF GRIEF AND GUILT, I CANNOT EVEN. Poor Armitage kept having to flick it out of his face! OH OH OH. And he's fallen out with the sheriff! MAYHAP THIS SEASON WILL SEE HIM TURN TO THE GANG? Hmmmm. And I did enjoy Prince John's envoy!douche, in a comedy facial hair sort of way.
+ BECAUSE I CANNOT SAY IT OFTEN ENOUGH: ROBIN IS A MASSIVE DOUCHE AND I HATE HIM.
+ Next week: The appearance of FEISTY!Kate! And William Houston, which I know will be pleasing to not a few people on the flist (do we have any other guest stars confirmed?)! UNDOUBTEDLY, A HIGH LEVEL OF CRACK!

Date: 2009-03-29 01:28 am (UTC)I approve of this William Houston guest role. Hai, Irish Question! And maybe one day, one day, John will not be the bad guy for actually doing the administrative stuff for England while Richard runs off on a vanity quest.

Date: 2009-03-29 03:16 am (UTC)Yes, I am sure Show will tackle the Irish Question in a subtle and thoughtful manner. Aaaaand the presence of TOBY AND HIS CROTCH is surely an indicator that John will be a Magnificent Bastard. ILU TOBY <3

LOL, I meant any Robin Hood story, but w/e.
I get so excited when I look at the promo for Toby because not only does he look divine, HE LOOKS OH SO PROPERLY PLANTAGENET. ♥ THOSE MAGNIFICENT BASTARDS. (Did you see the most recent

AHAHAHAHAHAHA I completely had the same reaction XDDDD
Poor Gizzy, I couldn't stop lol-ing at him throughout the entire thing. THE ANGST. THE UPSIDE-DOWN PSEUDO-HYPNOSIS (which, I might add, gave a lovely shot of arched neck-ness. Oh yes.)
BUT THIS IS CLEARLY THE BEST PART OF THE EPISODE:
WIN.

OH I DO LOVE YOU ♥

I was starting to hate Robin in this ep, but forgot about his whole ~Marian my dead wife~ thing. I forgive his doucheness.

Date: 2009-03-29 03:27 pm (UTC)I do understand that he is grieving (although, really, if they want us to take this into account when writing our snarky reviews they should really give Bobbin GRIEF HAIR a la Gizzy), but, to be honest, I had douchey!Robin issues looooong before Marian died. I FEAR I AM JUST NOT MEANT TO LOVE HIM.

I was lying in bed this morning trying to work out how long after last season this episode was set. I was thinking it couldn't be very long after...at all... and then I realised HOW LONG WOULD IT TAKE FOR GUY TO GROW HIS HAIR THAT LONG?? So idk. Show is, as ever, indecipherable in so many ways.
What are your feelings on the arrival of Kate? Intrigued? Optimistic? Hostile? I don't think the poor dear is going to be welcomed into fandom with open arms...

Date: 2009-03-29 03:35 pm (UTC)I think my relationship with RH is somewhat Brokebackian. I WISH I KNEW HOW TO QUIT IT (BUT NOT REALLY) (NOT EVEN A LITTLE BIT) (I LOVE MY LOVELY CRACK ADDICITION)
I think they just said 'months'? IDK. CLEARLY GRIEF IS THE MIRACLE GRO OF OLDEN TIMES.
I am reserving judgement. She does seem a bit *insert FEISTY female here* at the minute, but I'm definitely up for giving her a chance. I am wary of the fact that Sam used the phrase 'love cube' in an interview, though. OH WELL, SHOW NEEDS MORE LADIES, WE MUST TAKE WHAT WE CAN GET.
no subject
Date: 2009-03-29 04:41 pm (UTC)Yeah, I know what you mean about the feistiness. Buuuut... yeah. I don't mind that much really.
GUY'S SISTER SHOULD BE ROCKIN' UP SOON ALSO. Much more interested about her than Kate, if I'm honest.

Date: 2009-03-29 02:16 pm (UTC)I think you're right, I don't think he's washed it since the Holy Land...so months then? I like his crazy angsty wallowing though.
I agree with you too because I love everyone but Robin, who needs to buy himself some big girl pants, and not get to have any fun with the rest of the gang until he learns to share his toys, and not be a massive douche....

Date: 2009-03-29 05:37 pm (UTC)Right. Robin Hood is a bit of a twat. However! The three men wandering around with him are awesome! One of them in particular is lovely, but I didn't catch his name. Not Little John (lololol). Not, er, the one that isn't the one I mean. OH WORDS, WHY MUST YOU FAIL ME?
.... is it wrong that I find the grief-hair on Guy, like, really attractive? I find long hair on men attractive, like, all the time anyway, so pairing that with Richard Armitage and then RICHARD ARMITAGE IN FREAKING LEATHER, OH MY GOD, really, I didn't stand a chance.
In other news: GUY of GISBOURNE. KJSDBJKABDKJADBK WHERE ARE ALL THE PICSPAMS DEVOTED TO HIM? I NEED THEM IN MY LIFE. I feel it is time to confess that gratuitous angst is basically one of my literary kinks - I AM ASHAMED OF THIS FACT BUT IT DOESN'T MAKE IT ANY LESS TRUE - so when characters that I like are angsty and/or crying it sends me into a little ball of mush and flailing, so, what I am saying is: CRY MOAR, GISBOURNE.
oh god I am ridiculous, I need to be outlawed BUT PREFERABLY NOT WITH ROBIN HOOD KTHX
HAVE YOU SEEN THE BSG FINALE YET??

Date: 2009-03-29 05:54 pm (UTC)- It's really weird, I've always used the word 'douche' to refer to Robin (YOU ARE NOT ALONE IN YOUR HOSTILITY), but I thought that was just my random choice of word. But, I've read about a million reviews, and they all select that particular adjective to describe him. He must just me intrinsically, unstoppably douchey.
- DID I MENTION IS MISS WILL?

Date: 2009-03-29 09:21 pm (UTC)Guy though...Guy. I can't fancy him in this series which I never thought I'd say. MOSTLY THOUGH...

Date: 2009-03-31 08:07 am (UTC)Robin bullying Much just makes me love Much all the more, and Robin all the less. I CANNAE UNDERSTAND JONAS FANGIRLS. Well, I can on some levels? And I can understand why Robin acts the way he does? But personally, I do not share their predilection. Really truly. As far as their dynamic goes though, I guess you could say that all the forgiving and explaining in the world might be somewhat undone by a long and cramped sea-voyage which possibly involved more cheering singing than Robin could cope with. ;)
EVERYTHING HERE I AGREE WITH. And am hoping the same thing. (Except also for a makeover. Get him back to pre-grief presentation. His sister might kick some sense into him. (Possibly literally?) :)
WILLIAM HOUSTON BEING IRISH. KATE THE FEISTY. HUZZAH HUZZAH SHOW, I AM GLAD TO HAVE YOU BACK.
