Some More Of Those Pretty Brits

Hmmm. I'm not sure. It just feels too OTT at this point, which is somewhat ridiculous because, y'know, I remember Mad Twatter. I remember that the show has always gone overboard. It just feels more self-conscious now, or something? ANYWAY, the point is, even though I now spend a fair bit of time cringing as I watch (ugh, Mackenzie Crook), I'm going to continue watching, because I really do like most of the characters an awful lot. Example: Cook's episode felt mostly flat to me, until the point where Cook came and sat by Freddie in the shed and went "I love you". AND NO, I AM NOT SLASHING THEM. It's just, I love characters that love each other (Cook's love for JJ and his magic is beyond endearing), and anything that shoves out close platonic relationships between boys where everyone can see them, relationship that aren't sexual but are still meaningful, relationships that involve characters who aren't afraid of expressing this. WHATEVER, I JUST LIKE THE BOYS.

And Pandora! I know she's utterly ridiculous, but I have surprising amounts of love for Pandora and her wide-eyed ways. I love her bunches! I love her interpretive dances about Africa! I love how she says things like "I've decided I love drugs"! And I really liked Pandora/Thomas a lot (yay for Posh Kenneth episodes! I will love him forever for giving me "this is all my luck"). AND NEXT WEEK IS PANDORA'S EPISODE, I AM EXCITED BECAUSE IT LOOKS LIKE SHE GOES OFF AT EFFY. OHH PANDORA ♥

In other news, Naomi and the twins are kind of depressingly bad at acting.

i agree re: skins, especially cook, who i don't care for, and it bothers me that these kids just feel like moshing together various characters from the original cast and repeating the same stuff. except thomas, he was WONDERFUL. cook needs to just stop. i want an effy episode, because i'm hoping tony comes back. spring break for the old crew! TELL ME WHAT HAPPENED WITH CASSIE. i miss those kids sfm. oh my god.

that being said, kaya is so fabulous. i have such a crush on her. guh.

I don't actually mind Cook as a character that much (he had me at "It's got potential this day. It's pregnant"), it's more the way they're using him that grates. WHICH MAKES NO SENSE, BECAUSE WHAT WE HAVE IS CANON, IDK, IT'S 'MARTHA IS TOO GOOD FOR YOU RUSTY' ALL OVER AGAIN. I think his whole self-destruction thing has interesting potential, maybe, but I definitely don't want Chris 2.0 (Chris Miles, you are missed). Also, I'm not buying that anyone can ingest that much tequila without throwing up. Aaaand I'm kind of torn on the issue of the old cast returning, because I don't think the show needs to, like, highlight the inferiority of this season by comparison, but if they could do it so it didn't feel horirbly shoehorned in then a Tony cameo could be awesome. STONEMS RULE THE WORLD. And Thomas was so lovely! RAPPING IN FRENCH, OH MY DAYS.

YAY TREADAWAYS! I'm just DL'ing City of Ember, because the combination of Harry & Saoirse Ronan is more awesome than I can resist.

There seems to be an increasing amount of boy love in television these days and its making me so happy! I mean, I have my occasional shallow moments of slashing, but for the most part I agree with you completely... its all about the platonic friendships where they aren't afraid to say they love each other. IDK, I grew up with a lot of boys who acted like the kids in Skins and they definitely had their intense love-confession moments.

Pandora/Thomas were perfect! I'm glad she's one of the first to get a love interest this series, and that he was a nice boy and... IDK, their short-lived romance just made me really happy. In fact, both of their characters just make me happy in general!

A TREADAWAY! (THAT BE OF THE HARRY VARIETY, aka the pretty yet slightly shy-er one). I love, love, love that picture of him. He is so scruffy and adorable and actually almost looks his age! Although, I still don't get the comparison to Dominic West. TELL ME HOW YOU LIKE BotH.

REBECCA HALL IS HOT. I have such a thing for pale girls with dark hair. I haven't seen much of her, but I have loved her in everything I've seen so far. That first photoshoot is beautiful!

My mother asked where she knew her from, and I was like HERE IS A LIST OF ALLLL THE PLACES. I remember watching Starter For Ten when it was on over Christmas, and just not quite being able to cope with how amazing she was.
