Seriously, that was, like, ROBIN HOOD LEVELS of 'how to make your show way more cracky and awesome in S2'.

Well, *someone* went on the internet, didn't they?

Firstly, SO MUCH FUNNIER than last season! Eve has great comic timing when Gwen isn't being a twat! Gareht steals every scene he is in! I don't want to hurt Owen anymore! Jack gets to actually *be* in the episodes properly and isn't all emo and tortured (not that I didn't love tortured!Jack, but change is good!)! Ohh, show. I knew I loved you for a reason.

Gwen
Ahh, The Big Googly Eyes Of Humanity. Strangely, she really didn't bother me as much as she usually does. Not that she wasn't incredibly annoying at points... "Tell Jack I love him"? Get to fuck. Let it die, Chibnall. It's just laughable now. They were hot in, like, one scene (hello, guns!). BUT, I loved the way she talked about Rhys and his proposal, and she seemed a lot more sorted than she was last season, and I loved her interaction with random old lady - "Bloody Torchwood!" Not sure why, as the newest member of the team, she was in charge, especially when there was Owen The Leader-Shooting Headcase... Actually, never mind.

Tosh and Owen
Tosh. You are going to break my heart this season, I can tell. STOP GETTING YOUR HOPES UP. When Martha comes he's going to be all tensiony with her and you're going to hurt worse than ever and it's going to be painful to watch, and your little face lit up like a puppy when he was all "I eed a woman I've got something in common with" so just STOP, alright? I love you, sad girl. Meanwhile, Owen doesn't suck! He didn't shoot *anyone* in the head this ep. He got to be funny and badass and lean out of car windows all action hero. He's so much more awesome when he isn't being a lech. Generally, everyone seems more balanced this series! :)

Ianto
Words cannot express how much I love this boy. All the writer/producer interviews have talked about how they're writing to Gareth's strengths now, and it really, really shows. He's so funny! He's so dry! He's so hot! He totally considered John's ORGY PROPOSAL OF WIN! And while they're still flogging the horsey corpse of Jack/Gwen to an extent, they seem to know that most of the fandom is JACK/IANTO ALL THE WAY, BABY! and is playing to that. I don't know if that's a good long-term plan, but it's currently awesome and makes me very happy, so screw the future! Ohhh, the office scene! Fetishes! Photocopiers! Awkwardly accepting dates! Pink shirt! Just, gah. And I LOVE that he's now a full-on team member, even if he has the occasionaly butlerish duty (silver tray? LOOOOL, show). IANTO, YOU ARE THE WIN. DON'T EVER CHANGE.

Jack
Aww, he's so much more chirpy than last season! Now he's put his doctor!angst behind him, or at least worked through it to a significant extent, he can be all happy and flirty and drunk again! This is bon. And all the Jack/Ianto stuff was very nicely played; not OMG TRU WUV or whatever, just 'I missed you a lot, can we start having sex again? I'll buy you dinner!' And The Barrowman still knows how to twinkle. And, yes, he's not at his Angelic levels of emo this season, but there's still pain there; the whole 'dragged over broken glass' thing hurts, it really does. And I am mucho intruiged by whatever this 'Grey' might be...

John
James Marsters. How can you be your age and yet so smokin'? How can you have THOSE FUCKING CHEEKBONES? Ahem. Firstly, I would like to offer the Torchwood costume department my mst heartfelt thanks for the choices they made with regards to this character. The boots! The *jacket*! Booted feet on the conference table! Gracious. Anyhoo, I loved the backstory about the breakup of the Time Agency, loved the poodle!lusting, loved the way that he seemed to genuinely care about Jack (the lift scene with Ianto? GUH). Most of all, though, I loved the way that when he went nasty, he went genuinely nasty. It chilled me through the squee, which was some achievement. And yet, he didn't kill the team outright, as he could have done. He offered them the chance to save each other; he seemed to sort of grudginly admire them, despite their comic ineptitude. AND HE'S COMING BACK! Anyone else reckon this Torchwood DNA thing's going to play into that?

All this and crack too! Hyper-steel? Fish people? Poodles?! ILU, SHOW. It's like you knew Robin Hood left me itchy.

In conclusion: can you hear that noise? Sounds like munching something chewy coupked with tears of joy? That's [livejournal.com profile] templa_otmena, eating her hat.

Aaaah- it is indeed... but I did have the great ape that is now RTD making things hard for me with his shit Jack!comeback of 'Doctor Whodom' when he had us crying just anticipating Jack's return by the end of last series of 'Torchwood'.

I agree wholeheartedly to all of the above- would just like to emphasise loves for John, Ianto and Jack... OT3? Does that work? There's a leafy OT3 shaped hole in ma soul that needs filling...

Off to work... or take part in Fandom Explosion... not sure xXx

I definitely agree with all of this! Especially the squeeing about the office scene. I'm very much looking forward to anything involving Ianto this season. I don't care what happens to him, as long as he keeps brandishing firearms and quietly telling people what to do.

OOH! See, NOW I am motivated to watch it!! Hooray! I was going to watch it live, but then...I realised I didn't really feel like it cause I was so tired and such, so I taped it.

I completely agree!! Torchwood series 1 was 'good' series 2 so far has been 'AMAZING!'

It seems to be a common theme running through all my favourite programs right now - Robin Hood, Torchwood and Primeval have all come back wackier and more wonderful than ever!

And as for James Marsters - who cares how old he is when he is THAT HOT!!!!

Roll on episode two!

Happy Jack > Emo Jack ♥

That episode was brilliant! I wasn't even looking forward to the new series, but now I'm loving it :D I'm sure James Marsters must have something to do with it. THAT FIGHT SCENE WAS SO HOT.
