NOBODY IS HAPPY IN SPACE

I CAN'T BELIEVE WE ONLY HAVE 8 EPISODES LEFT, GUYS. How is this all going to resolce itself? HOW EXACTLY? They're taking their time, which is pretty standard on this show, but eeep! 8 EPISODES. DON'T LEAVE ME, SHOW. Anyway, some thoughts!

+ THE RETURN OF BITCHY!GAETA FTW, BABY. Although now he is all bitter and one-legged it makes me sad, and he's so angry. HOSHI, GIVE THIS MAN A CUDDLE AND/OR SEXING, STAT. I know Alessandro said that he would be getting bigger storylines towards the end of the season, but Gaeta VS Galactica, man, it really hurts. Remember how adorable and idealistic flashback!Gaeta was on New Caprica in "Unfinished Business"? MEEEEP TO INFINITY. But now I'm wildly hoping that his alliance with Zarek is somehow going to expand to include GAIUS FRAKKING BALTAR, because those two need to interact again because it is awesome and twisted and shit. God, when did I start loving Gaeta so much? I seriously cannot remember, BUT I AM WALLOWING IN IT.

+ Chief (although maybe I should start calling him, like, "Galen" now. Ex-chief? IDK) and Nicky. I don't know, this reveal of Hotdog as Nicky's father (HI HOTDOG!) feels kind of like a retcon to me. Like, the showrunners caught on that Chief/Cally made everyone sadpants, and therefore tried to bury it more than they already had, or something? I mean, for all that she was annoying and unhappy, Cally wasn't particularly a bad person, so it seems kind of unfair to post-humously go LOL SHE CHEATED ON YOU. Also, it makes Hera the Special Hybrid Baby again, which I hope is going to play out. Meh, I choose to read this as the show REMOVING EVERY POSSIBLE OBSTACLE IN THE PATH OF BOOMER/CHIEF. YEAH THAT'S RIGHT. But I am loving how Chief seems to have become some sort of mediator between the Cylons and the fleet. THAT'S MY BOY(FRIEND).

+ OLD PEOPLE SNUGGLING AND IN LOVE ♥ As much as Laura kind of scares me when she's being all totalitarian and shit, this weirdly zen 'I-want-to-just-live-our-lives' Laura is unsettling me even more. I DON'T KNOW WHY. The whole lack-of-direciton thing is worrying in general. Let's just focus on the snuggling.

+ The Cylon Baby Saviour Jesus Whatever is still skeeving me out somewhat. It's just really weird, watching Six and Tigh getting all cooey over baby scans together. WHY SAUL, ONLY LAST WEEK IT WAS REVEALED THAT ELLEN WAS YOUR CYLON SOULMATE FOR ALL ETERNITY, WHAT ARE YOU PLAYING AT? And for some reason I can't stop imagining that the baby will be born with, like, ELLEN'S FACE, and it's creeping me out and making me giggle hysterically.

In other news, I watched Forgetting Sarah Marshall. It was pretty fun; Mila Kunis is always adorable (has anyone seen Get Over it? MUSICAL SHAKESPEARE!), and there was Bill Hader and Hawaii and Jason Segel looking pretty good in shirts which didn't have patterns on them. I think I will forever regard it fondly, though, because while I knew that Jason Segel played the piano, and I knew that he enjoyed musicals, nothing in my life had ever prepared me for the wonders of a Dracula musical with puppets.

Emily Blunt is in Iron Man 2! Rejoice!

GET OVER IT IS AMAZING AND WINSY AND OMG. I love that film, though I'd completely forgotten Mila Kunis was in it! I thought Forgetting Sarah Marshall was quite sweet, even though it made me severely dislike my darling girlcrush Kristen Bell (abhorrent character ahoy!), and there was much unexpected!penis from Jason Segel. Sweet, though.

EMILY BLUNT HELL YEAH. Iron Man 2 is going to be even more badass than the first.

I AM SO GLAD SOMEONE ELSE HAS SEEN IT! God, I love that film. I know all the songs from "A Midsummer Night's Rockin' Eve"! And I covet all of Kirsten Dunst's crazy long skirts! IT'S SHAKESPEARE, BUT WITH RIDICULOUS SONGS WRITTEN BY THE PEOPLE WHO WROTE THE HAIRSPRAY MUSICAL! And Sisquo! AHHH.

Yeah, that was the only major drawback for me. Did you see 27 Dresses? I had the same problem with the sister character in that, blech.
