I really do need a more badass Ianto icon. THE BOY IS MADE OF FIERY WIN. That is all. Also, BRYAN FUCKING DICK. This episode may have excited me.

Whooo, Bryan Dick looks good with that crazy, longish, bordering-on-fraise-blond hair he's working. And the leather! And the evil! IT IS ALL VERY, VERY GOOD. ALSO, HE TOTALLY TAKES HIS SHIRT OFF. IT IS ALSO VERY, VERY GOOD.

Tosh has cleavage. Owen has a cardigan and glasses (which I love, because somehow altering his memory made him short-sighted? And then at the end he just takes them off again! LOOOOL, show). THey are still doing the same dance, but she's leading. It's kind of sad. Also, needy!Owen = Guppy from Bleak House. It is vaguely creepy.

It is a testament to the pwnage of S2 as opposed to S1 that I now really, really love Rhys. What has happened, show? You are confusing me with all the warm and fuzzy feelings (still don't need to see his arse again, though. Just a heads up about that). He is sort-of sensitive and lovely and adores Gwen and feels all vulnerable and insecure but not in a whiny way and WHAT IS THIS? I DESPISED HIM LAST SERIES. I think I need to lie down. With a Rhys-shaped hot water bottle. Just for a nice cuddle.

PLEASE, PLEASE STOP WITH THE UNCONVINCING JACK/GWEN DOOMED LOVE THING. If this comes up at her wedding I shall scream like Veruca Salt, I swear. Joking is good. Playfighting is very good. Gun training, also good. Repeatedly suggesting to your boss that you love him more than your fiance is not good at all. ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU HAVE NO ROMANTIC CHEMISTRY.

IANTOOOOOO. Every week I run out of ways to say how much I love this character. Ohhh, the pain. Ohhh, the sly smiles. Ohhh, Jack's steadfast refusal to believe that he was a murderer. Ohhh, Gareth David-Lloyd, somehow managing to make the line "I'm a monster" barely cheesy at all and rather affecting. And when all the team was having their Big Defining Moment Thing, I was worried that Ianto was going to be defined solely through his relationship with Jack, so relief on that count. Plus, forehead!kissing is always adorable. Also, the Power Of Ianto is such that [livejournal.com profile] thedreamygirl is in love with him after her first ever episode. Result!

Re: the actual plot... Well, I enjoyed it. I liked that the team got messed up, after this run of episodes we've had showing how together they currently are. I'm not going to lie, I liked the excess of Bryan Dick and his assorted looks of 'concerned' evil. And his hair. And his costume/lack thereof (delete as appropriate). I thought the concept of treating a stranger like they've always been there was a great one - it made me a LOL a wee bit thinking of OMG WHO IS THIS DAWN CHARACTER in Buffy S5. I could understand Adam's motivation for targeting the team, but I wasn't entirely sure how he ended up in the box in the first place... Or what all that jazz with him inserting himself into Jack's distant!past was. And The Barrowman can always be relied upon to bring le fromage.

NEXT WEEK: MARTHA FUCKING JONES. And also Jim from Neighbours. Is this the big Weevils episode, or is that something else? Is there even going to be a big Weevils episode, or have I just fabricated this in my head from cheesy snacks? The important thing is this: MARTHA FUCKING JONES IS COMING TO TORCHWOOD. Oh yes.
