MAN ALIVE, TORCHWOOD IS ON A ROLL, IS IT NOT?

Firstly, for large parts of this episode I didn't hate Gwen! Yay for good scripts and Eve getting a chance to pwn as she rightly should! Especially the "STFU, Jack, I'm keeping his memories!" scene; last year, that would've really pissed me off, with the Eyes Of Humanity and so forth, but now it is righteous. Although, for the love of all that is good and pure, lay off the Gwack! Or at least tone it down a bit. Sheesh. Wasn't this all resolved in the opener? We *really* don't need them to keep shoving it at us. It just strikes me as so... unconvincing. BUT, I think I have to forgive it this week, because there was a really poignant shot of Ianto near the end of the episode, where you just knew that he knew, and oh, GDL you break my heart and my ribs every week.

IANTO! Ianto Ianto Ianto! I am *so* happy with the way S2 is progressing, and my favourite thing of all is the PROPER AND GOOD CHARACTERISATION. Snarky Ianto! Badass Ianto (HOMG, stungun! Kicking people!)! Lovestruck Ianto! IT'S ALL EXCELLENT AND SEXY AND BON. And he looks so sharp in his coat! And he still tucks a napkin down his front when he's eating! AND THE ADORABLE-BEYOND-ALL-REASON SMILE HE DID WHEN TOSH WAS BEMOANING SINGLEDOM. Ach. Dear show, please don't break Ianto. I need him. He is the win. LOVE the one-liners, but don't reduce him to 'the foxy quipper'. BUT DON'T BREAK HIM EITHER.

Ohhh, Tosh. Please, please stop chasing Owen. When you do the sad eyes, it hurts my insides. That is all.

Owen, why is it that I kind of love you now? Am I this shallow? Remember how much I hated you when you were scrapping with Weevils and 'falling in love' with annoying 2D characters AND SHOOTING JACK IN THE HEAD? Ooh, apart from that time when you told Gwen you were "tired of her fuck tricks". That was awesome. Seriously, what happened? Also, next week you're in a cardigan! It looks kind of adorable! And your euthanasia!angst was lovely. But do bear in mind, WHEN TOSH OFFERS YOU SANDWICHES SHE'S REALLY OFFERING YOU SEX.

Rhys, you actually didn't suck. Keep it up, my man. But don't feel like you need to make an appearance every episode.

Man, I wish that John Barrowman would let himself get a bit more craggy. Craggy is hotter than the slightly-Cliff-Richard-esque preservation thing he's got going on at the moment. I still totally love him and his sexy cheese (ew, that sounds so icky), but there was one shot where he looked kind of craggy and insanely hot and it was good. Think on it.

HOMG THE PREVIEW THE PREVIEW THE PREVIEW. BRYAN FUCKING DICK. Ohh, I am beyond excited. I need templa_otmena to comment on this post with her "I slash supporting characters" M&C icon, just so I can look at it and be EVEN MORE CRAZY WITH GLEE about next week! Although, they gave away Gray in the trailer! Odd. AND IS IANTO NOW A SERIAL KILLER???? Owen in a cardigan! And glasses! DID I MENTION THAT BRYAN FUCKING DICK IS IN IT NEXT WEEK? NO? WELL HE FUCKING IS!

Gwack, heheh. I also cannot subscribe to or fully embrace it. I'd like to but I just don't believe Jack really fancies her. There are long looks but no chemistry.

What is with Owen suddenly switching from leather jackets to cardigans? (Although I must admit to fancying the glasses. Somewhat.) Is he trying to prevent female attention?

I don't think it will dispel that of the sad-eyed!Tosh. There's an interesting dynamic going on there. The vibe I'm getting (despite what he's apparently going to say next week) is not 'I LOVE YOU MADLY AND DEEPLY' but an 'I like you okay, not as much as you like me, but when I'm damaged I really need a comforting hand'.

I can't fancy John Barrowman. I don't know. For me, the sexy is NOT BROUGHT BACK. I am sorry, but such is the way of things.

HAI.

I just saw this episode and I BASICALLY AGREE WITH EVERYTHING YOU SAID. I THINK WE HAVE THE SAME OPINIONS ON EVERYTHING, EXCEPT I DID LIKE OWEN LAST SEASON. APART FROM THE FINALE, WHERE HE WENT A BIT INSANE.

Apparently next week (SPOILER...although...not that bad...but possibly bad? I DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH YOU CARE ABOUT SPOILERS) everyone gets implanted with weird memories/eachother's memories? So that was why Ianto was all weird and serial killer-ish. I don't think he ACTUALLY KILLS PEOPLE. Whew.

I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THEY ARE SHOVING THE GWACK DOWN OUR THROATS, WHEN JACK HAS IANTO. IF THEY ARE GOING TO SHOVE IT DOWN OUR THROATS, I WANT TO SEE HIS ANGST ABOUT IT MORE!!
