Because I can't write about it without getting all self-righteous and angry, picspam it is. Some of the caps are a bit icky... And there's a lot of them, so dial-up warning.
This is Damien. He's a doctor. He is played by Cillian Murphy, who is hot.

This sort of thing happens rather a lot.

This guy was killed because he wouldn't say his name in English.

This is Damien's brother Teddy. He's played by Padraic Delaney, who is not as hot as Cillian Murphy, but who I think has a touch of the Rupert Penry-Joneses about him.

He wants Damien to join the IRA to fight the Brits, but Damien's going to London.

Except, when he's at the station, he sees this:

So he joins up.

This is Sinead. She helps the gang and has chemistry with Damien. Her beret is stylish, and useful for carrying secret messages.

Things get rather more serious as the boys totally shoot the fuck out of some British soldiers.

And duly get arrested for it.

Damien pretends to be Teddy to protect him.

Teddy's having none of it. I love brothers.

Teddy gets tortured, but it's worth it, because he is then comforted by Cillian Murphy.

Some more stuff happens, and then Damien is ordered to execute one of their boys who betrayed them. Angst.

Things are changing. The rebels set up Irish courts. And I love that women are active in this.

However, there is tension between those who don't want to piss of the money (Teddy), and those who want to promote equal rights (Damien).

The violence is still escalating, as the boys shoot up a British convoy.

In return, this happens to Sinead.

After the Brits pull out, the Irish celebrate, and Damien and Sinead get it on.

The creation of the Irish Free State is announced...

... But Damien is not impressed.

Teddy joins the Free Staters, while Damien chooses to fight on. And gets excommunicated.

Brotherly angst, as Teddy tries to convince Damien to stop fighting him.

He fails, and Damien is eventually arrested. He then has to convince him to denounce his comrades, or face execution. Needless to say, there is angst.

After refusing to co-operate, Damine writes his final letter to Sinead.

This is a very pretty film. With very pretty men. Observe.
In any other context, this would be really hot.

Smoking is evil, yet sexy.

Lip-biting!

I admit to a slight neck fetish...

Again, this should not be hot.

Hugging is cute.

Teddy isn't the 'hot brother', but he does have a rather sexy coat:

Cillian really doesn't smile much in this film, so make the most of it.

This scene is so pretty it hurts.

I made rather a lot of caps of this scene. Can't think why...

Arm!Porn...
