Notes From My Probable Deathbed
Uggggh, I feel so disgusting. I'm getting some sort of wanky flu thing, and I can't skive uni because it's the last week of term (2 CONTACT HOURS LEFT EVER IN MY LIFE, WHAT WHAT), and I basically just spent the whole weekend in bed with Lemsip and Merlin. Good old Merlin and its charmingly ridiculous and beautiful cast. Good old video diaries. Good old commentaries. Yay Colin's cheekbones, etc. My eyes are killing me, though; I think when I'm home for Easter Week I'll see if I can wangle a visit to Specsavers or whatever, just to make sure there's nothing really wrong.
God, Skins was such a downer this week. The only people who appeared to be even vaugely happy were Emily and Naomi (hooray!). JJ yelling at Cook was horrible. Pandora and Thomas were miserable. Katie was kind of disgusting. Freddie was his usual judgemental, hypocritical self. Effy was fucked up almost beyond recognition. SHE NEEDS TONY TO COME AND RESCUE HER; that shot of her and Cook in the car at the end was one of the most depressing things I've ever seen. Just, fucking hell. The episode looked gorgeous, though; all those trippy sparklers.
Meh. I've been watching with the girl, and she's quite into it, but it hasn't really gripped me so far, and I find a lot of it vaguely squicky. The second episode in particular was really uncomfortable - I actually felt sick when that client guy started hunting Echo with a bow and arrow. I'll give it a while longer (Oliva Williams, you are so fabulous!) and hope it raises its game, I suppose.
SHOW OF MY SOUL, I CANNOT BELIVE YOU ARE LEAVING ME ON FRIDAY. I thought this worked really nicely as a sort of "calm before the storm" episode; I loved the quasi-stillness of the flashbacks. It's so strange seeing Kara young and with Zak - I can't think of a time we've seen her with so little baggage. And poor, drunk Lee faffing about with a pigeon, and Roslin losing all her family. The most interesting flashbacks for me were the Gaius/Six ones; it's fascinating that that's what connected them, that she could see how helping him detach himself from his father and his past would be the thing that would make her special to him. In fact, I think Baltar was my favourite thing in the whole episode. I love how much he, as much of any of us, genuinely doesn't seem to know how much of what he says and does is bullshit. Do we think he's going to cross the line in the sand in the finale? OH SHOW. *clings*
Vid rec! It seems I am forever doomed to just rec everything
obsessive24 does, but it's awesome stuff, so whatever. Slow Down Gandhi is a BSG vid (spoilers through 4.14) that focuses on the opposition to the Adama/Roslin Axis of Hardcore administration, and it tackles both the problems of the administration and the problems of the opposition. IT IS SO HARDCORE AND MAGNIFICENT AND IT GIVES ME FEELINGS OF RIGHTEOUS ANGER. Anyway. Also, if you haven't already you should watch her Love Lockdown, which is Gina/Cain. Yay femmeslash!
You guys, even with the extension until Wednesday, this SICKNESS has knocked me out so much that there's basically no way I'm going to have my
reel_merlin finished on time. FAIL, SELF. I definitely am going to have to finish it, though, because a) I'm really having fun writing it, and b)
lovestories already did the art, and it is so awesome that nobody should be denied it. So. Head down power through.
I, um, may also have downloaded the first episode of Stargate: Atlantis. Yeah.
How are you? ♥

How far into Dollhouse are you? It's still squicking me out, but "True Believer" wasn't too bad, and it looks like they're upping the game this Friday. Not that I'll be watching, as some other little show takes precedence.
I LOVED THE BALTAR/SIX SCENES OMG. Damn, I just kind of loved the episode. I CAN'T BELIEVE THE SHOW IS LEAVING US IN 5 DAYS. *CLINGS*
Well, I just watched the first episode of Kings. (Hello, Ian McShane and bonus Wes Studi: I can't no.) It's pretty interesting, and at least it's making me feel like those years of Sunday school haven't gone totally to waste. ;)

Only the first two eps so far. I think I vaguely saw someone kinda-maybe speculating about Alan Tudyk having a role at some point, possibly? IDK. I've got 3 and 4 downloaded and ready to go, so I probably will give them a go.
*CLIIINGS* I LOVE anything that has anything to do with Gaius' past on Aerelon. YORKSHIRE ACCENT! I am not ready to let go, man. And there's so much still to wrap up! *bites nails*
Hey, I DL'd that too! MCSHANE, WHAT WHAT.

I will pretty much watch McShane chew scenery all the time. I only wish a little bit that Kings was on cable instead of network television so then it could be all ~gritty~ and we could hear him say "cocksucker" over and over.

I miss Nick and his cheekbones.

I wanted to give Effy a hug. And Tony to come back to give Effy a hug. Michelle too. I also want Katie to freak the fuck out on Freddie a la Stephen King's Carrie.

I feel like one of the only people in the world that likes Dollhouse, huh. WHATEV, I THINK I MIGHT JUST BE INCAPABLE OF HATING ANYTHING JOSS TOUCHES. I was seven the first time I watched Buffy, I have basically been his deciple ever since. IT IS NOT MY FAULT. (However, even I find my crush - crush that is getting a little out of control as of now, might I add - on Tropher disturbing. I DON'T LIKE WHAT MY LOSE FOR HIM SAYS ABOUT ME.)
Oh, that whole drawing aline down the deck thing with the music just shot to inside my top 10 moments of BSG. It made my heart soarrr and I can't deny that Helo being in a lot of shots with his arms crossed made me ridiculously happy. Leeeeeeeee ♥ (Does this mean we get pilot!Lee back? Because I AM SO GAME FOR THAT.)

Sorry, but I am LOLing at your Topher!crush. WATCH ME LAUGH. I do quite like Boyd, though, and of course TAHMOH TAHMOH TAHMOH AND HIS FRECKLES.
Oh Leeeemo. I must admit, though, drunk!flashback!Lee and his beautiful short hair only made me sadder to see the S4 Bouff Of Ridiculousness. HIS HAIR IS FULL OF SECRETS?

omg. i'm sorry you aren't feeling very well D:

Normally I like my Skins drama levened with humor, but this week there was none. (Also, WHY DID THEY LEAVE WITHOUT KATIE AND EFFY WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO CALLED THE POLICE?)
And I can't wait to read your
(And SGA! \o/)

Haha I was just waiting for Tony to show up. I miss him. :(
And Dollhouse, gosh I know... it really creeped me out when he was hunting her, I can't imagine if that really happened. It'd be so extremely scary.

Also, YAY PETRELLICEST! Also, have you seen this (http://community.livejournal.com/skinsfans/798831.html)? It's not as nicely edited as yours but it's pretty cute. Are you vidding anything ATM?

Ohhhh, "White Houses", you are the best! I AM NOT. I've cut "Hunting For Witches" to the appropriate length and I've been picspamming Skins and toying with the idea of making an Old Cast vid because I would not have to wait on footage and stuff. BUT NO ACTUAL VIDDING HAS REALLY OCCURRED. D:

Oooh, what bits did you cut out? *exceptionally grabby hands at Skins!spam*

Just the beer part in the beginning, for now! WE'LL SEE HOW CLIPS GO AND THEN I MIGHT CUT SOME OF THE END. *here, have the first slide!*
