Mini Hiatus Thing
I am leaving you all. It is sad.
I'm heading up to New House tomorrow, to take the TV and bedding and saucepans and assorted crates, and then Newcastle on Thursday for The Penelopiad! I'm staying in York until Saturday, so I can see Atonement with la chicas, and then training it back, which means hours of uninterrupted writing time, which means I should have my Teddy/Victoire ready to post by the time I'm home. :D
I'm feeling a bit meh at the moment, to be honest. Everyone's heading back to school and starting uni, and I'm... not. I am so over summmer at this point, it's not even funny. No job, no money, nothing to fuckin' doooooo (love ya, Ewan! Ooh, Long Way Down starts this month!)! Grrr, Southport.
But, I had to get money out today, so I now have a new Railcard, a sexay coral Topshop jumper, A Very Long Engagement on DVD (anyone seen it? Thoughts?), the rodrigo y gabriela album and the new Kate Rusby CD. I am happy and guilty, all at the same time. The Kate Rusby is GOREGEOUS, everybody should buy it. There's a track called "Blooming Heather", and I didn't realise until I was listening to it that it's actually "Wild Mountain Thyme", AKA That Song That Drew Sang To Libby At Their Wedding And Then Libby Sang It At Drew's Funeral! Man, I love my Best Of Neighbours DVD.
Yay for E4 resuming normal service! E4 music is my very favourite thing to watch in the mornings, and now that BB is over it has returned to me! But their late night scheduling sucks. Series 2 of The OC? Really? That's the best you could do? I loved it unconditionally for the first series, even through the stupid Oliver plotline, but Series 2 made me really not care anymore. Too many new characters, too much Marissa, Seth slowly dimininishing into a parody of his former self... Yuck. And then Series 3 with JOHNNY THE SOUL-DESTROYER and Sandy's tedious hospital sub-plot. On the plus side, we got Tayor and Marissa died. And oh, man, this episode is The Hat episode. People should not let La Barton wear hats. Especially hats that make her look like a golfer.
Kate Rusby. She is lovely.
EDIT: Hah! How could I forget? Series 2 is also the series with Marissa's Hilarious Lesbian Dabblings.

Aw, bless. I've imprinted on you :D
My icon reminded me... HEROES! WHEN?

9/24! SO EXCITED. My roommate will probably kill me.

Why didn't you start uni? Mm, too many questions.

My university's a bit weird with the terms, I don't go back until October. It feels strange, because all the Americans and basically everyone else are starting college, and all the Brits who are younger than me are back at school. *emo*
Oooh, N&S icon!

Yay N&S &hearts

But lucky you gets to visit Yorkland and see Atonement! If it is no longer playing when I get back in October I will be most displeased.
And I know what you mean about wanting uni to start. I haven't done any work but I'm kind of fed up of holidays.

Atonement was love. The Mac! On Saturday we are also watching Starter For 10, mmkay?
Yeah, work.... The only bit of uni that I don't miss. Well, work and geese.

Aw, The Mac. Yes, Starter For 10 must be added to a Saturday, but maybe a later one? My mother has the DVD of it too, but I am resolved not to watch it until I have read teh book and that is taking longer than expected.
Is it geese or ducks? I am ignorant.

I've been checking your page everyday to see if you have updated- looking forward to next week :)
I won't be able to meet you guys at New House on Friday- I have an Engagement party to go to and a 20th birthday in the evening- not sure how I'm going to do both. They're both in Manchester- may be a Mrs Doubtfire affair, hmmmm...
Have a grand time my dear- I MUST see Atonement with YOU at some point soon-
Interview with James McAvoy yesterday-
"He was a hard character to play because he is such a good person. You watch him get his heart completely ripped out but we do love to watch these things"
Squee-age :) xXx

AND DITTO to the major love for The OC season 1! It was such a guilty pleasure. I was in denial for most of season 2, but realized the show was officially dead in my heart when they pulled that ridiculous stunt with Kirstin's car crash. And I didn't think that The Hat was quite as awful as those balloon sleeves she was wearing WITH the hat.
I've seen A Very Long Engagement, I love Jodie Foster's bit (and her fantastic French)!

Er no -- you can't leave. Who will I waste HOURS of time when I should be sleeping talking about Obscure British Actors and attaching swearwords to Emma Watson's name with???? COME BACK!!!!

I AM SAAAAD THAT YOU ARE GOOOONE. *SNIFF* Come back, Sophie!
COME BACK WITH T/V FIC!!Ditto. I was all bored by Season 2. SAME THING HAPPENED EVERY EPISODE.Both couples would have some fight that was relevant to the events of the episode, and then by the end they would all be happy again and there would be a montage with a fluffy song. Then Season 3 started and by about the 5th episode I had given up. Didn't watch it again. Except for the last 5 minutes of the last series-es. I watched Marissa's death. And the end with Seth/Summer wedding and Ryan leaving etc. HOW MANY TIMES did they pimp that "Ryan leaves for the first time with Sandy in his car, Marissa is standing in the driveway" scene? MY GAWD.

Hee, Marissa's death. 'Twas hilarioos. And Ryan CANNOT cry, can he? He looked like he was laughing, gleefully. Maybe he was...
