I think I saw one of the pool shots first, and I was like, I MUST SEE THE REST OF THIS, RIGHT NOW. Needless to say, I was not disappointed.

I understand where you're coming from. But it's not just the adaptations, it's Dickens himself. He wasn't much with characters, but he knew how to evoke powerful emotions in people. Hence, most of his characters are caricatures. The Dickens adaptations I've seen are the 3 Nicklebys, Bleak House, 2 versions of Great Expectations and A Tale of Two Cities. Out of those, the best were Bleak House, the Ioan Great Expectations, and the RSC Nickleby. The RSC Nickleby was very tongue-in-cheek, but did a better job, I think, at evoking emotions than the actual book itself.

NO I HAVEN'T! LINK, PLZ!

I'm basically dying for Monday here, and have been shifting around for good Heroes fics. Interested?
