Stuff What I Like That Begins With A 'P'

Gacked from [livejournal.com profile] tirwen_star03
Comment on this entry and I will give you a letter. Write seven words/names/whatever beginning with that letter in your journal including an explanation of what the word means to you.

Piano: I've been playing the piano since I was six, and I love it. I did my Grade 8 about 18 months ago, and completley fluked a distinction. Seriously, completely meffed up the scales and half the aural, and scraped it by a mark on the strength of the pieces. :) Anyway, I love sightreading, an playing loudly. I really love sightreading loudly. Beethoven and Debussy FTW. And often occasionally my sister and I play showtunes.

Paris: I went to Disneyland Paris for my eleventh birthday. It was beautiful. But we also spent a day in Paris proper, and left a lasting impression on me. The first time I used an automated ticket machine was on the Metro. We ate crepes in a cafe with iron-wrought tables. We went to Notre Dame. Also, films set in Paris are lush- I'm in love with Amelie, Before Sunset and La Haine. Yum, Mathieu Kassovitz.

Plug In Baby: Ahh, Muse. How I love thee. This is probably my favourite song off Origin Of Symmetry, and it just PWNS everything. Everytime I've seen them live, *this* is the song that people wait for them to play. This is the song where half the people in the crowd sing the opening riff at the end of every other number. And when they finally let rip with that BEAST of an introduction, the place goes fucking nuts. And everyone jumps at the same time, and everyone screams all the words and I shake my hair like I should be committed. LOVE IT.

Peter Petrelli: Awww, Petey, it's been so long! I've missed you! When are you coming back to me? Okay, Peter Petrelli of Heroes is my befringed emo empath love object. And I can appreciate the emo!bangs because we have seen the future and there is man hair and angst. Also, BroYay! And Milo Ventimiglia is unreasonably pretty.

Pen and Paper: I have a stash of pretty notebooks. Some of them are too pretty to write in, but they look very nice indeed. The point is, I like the act of writing better than the act of typing. I don't misspell when I write. And fic, poetry, whatever- it all gets drafted by hand before I post it on here.

Pulp: I love Jarvis Cocker more than is healthy. And even though he's in his forties and slightly dodgy looking, I still would. "Common People" has soundtracked some of the best nights in my life. They made Sheffield cool a decade before Arctic Monkeys. And the glasses! I love the glasses.

Portugal: After exams last year, seven of us had a week in Albufeira, and it was awesome. We spent the day lazing around by the pool, swimming, reading, getting tanned (I was the only one who didn't burn- who's laughing at reapplication now, ladies?), occasionally venturing into town or to the waterpark. About five, we'd head inside, get showered and dressed, then head out to eat. I know more about Sangria now than I ever thought I would need to. Then, dancing! In which we would attempt to fend off the advances of sweaty Englishmen and Portuguese teenagers with mullets. Fun times. Song of the summer: Shakira, Hips Don't Lie. Makes me smile when I hear it now.

Ooh, Kanye West is on The Friday Night Project. I love that man, even if he is a geniarse. Even if he is a twat, the man can write. And sample, obviously. Anyway, lots of fun West-based memories. Gold Digger-centric, mainly. My Faye's face whenever it comes on when we're out cracks me right up, her eyes sort of widen and her mouth looks like a granny who just had a shock. We spent a day last summer dancing round the park to "Touch The Sky". To this day, I still get answerphone messages consisting of the intro to Gold Digger. Oh, and lest we forget, nothing will ever be better than Claire's suggestion of introducing Jesus Walks into the local parish.

Oooh, a Muse song. I'll have to ask my brother about it later (Muse is one of his favorite bands), since I haven't heard it before.

Anyway, I'm up for a letter.

As much as I dislike Kanye, I kind of agree with you. He is 'different' and 'talented' and on an interview I once saw him wearing a Les Miserables jumper and he made it look really fab. *ashammmmmeddd*.

Can you play Moonlight Sonata? If you can I envy you so much.

SOPHIE I AM MORTIFIED. WHERE ARE THE PHELPS TWINS?

Peter Petrelli... I don't think I like him.

I do that with notebooks! If they're really pretty, I'm afraif I'll mess them up if I write in them. XD

Kanye West is so much funnier than I'd have thought. I was shocked - I was expecting it to be a really painful experience for JLC and Alan Carr. :P

Peter! My friend's almost all caught up with the first season, and she just finished "Five Years Gone" and says rather dreamily, "He's just so pretty, isn't he?"

Me, plz!
