God, that must have been so scary. I was supposed to go on a politics trip to Parliament that weekend, but our debate competition got postponed, and they weren't letting coaches into the city. It was so insane when it happenned, because people had sort of heard things on the radio and internet but nobody knew for sure what happened until lunch. One interesting theory was that it was obviously the French, because our Olympic bid had beaten theirs...

But Bath is beyond beautiful. You must have seen the assembly rooms, right? Sigh. They're the pinnacle of Austenness. Also, I don't know if you've heard but one of the UK TV channels is having an Austen season, starting next week. They've done new 90 minute adaptations of Mansfield Park, Northanger Abbey and Persuasion, and they look gorgeous. They'll most likely be online after they've aired, so keep your eyes peeled.
